Calgary Experiences

Safe, clean, and cosmopolitan, Calgary is an engaging mix of big-city culture, genuine hospitality and uncommon energy.

A city where ideas generate action and dreams become reality, where people from around the world come to experience adventure, rich western heritage, pioneering traditions and the majestic Canadian Rockies.

Below is a small selection of the tours we can organise for you when you have booked your Canada holiday with us and are visiting Calgary.

Officially opened June 30th 1968, the "Tower" has become the City of Calgary's most famous and identifiable physical landmark. One of the first Towers of its kind, the Calgary Tower offers the best view in Calgary and is a must-see on any itinerary. Throughout the 1988 Winter Olympic Games, a flame burned at the top of the Tower, making the Calgary Tower the World's Largest Olympic Torch. The torch is still lit today for special occasions, like Canada Day, sparking fond memories as well as a certain civic pride in all Calgarians.

Visitors to the Observation Deck will be able to virtually "step out into space" on the new glass floor experience. Imagine standing 525 feet above the ground in the heart of Calgary and being able to look straight down and directly out in front of you into the heart of the city. The experience will be awe-inspiring and will challenge the emotions, but rest assured --- the thrill will be worth it.

Calgary Tower Highlights

  • Take in 360 degree views alongside stepping onto the glass floor atop the tower.
  • Take in views of famous buildings such as Bankers Hall, Calgary International Airport, Eighth Avenue Place and more

Opening in December 2023, the revitalized Canadian Wilds experience is a unique and exciting travel experience that takes visitors on a journey through the diverse landscapes and wildlife of Canada including polar bears, otters, wolves, caribou, whooping cranes and more.

Calgary Zoo Highlights

  • Multiple events held within the zoo throughout the year
  • Vast array of exotic wild animals

The Rodeo is the heart of the Calgary Stampede. It is one of the largest and the most famous event of its kind in the world. Experience the Richest Afternoon in Rodeo featuring the world's toughest competitors. There are six major events that happen including ladies barrel racing, bareback, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc and bull riding. The calibre of a rodeo comes down to two things: the skill of the competitors and the quality of the horses, bulls and steers. The Stampede Rodeo features the world's best competitors and animals. The cowboys and cowgirls face off in a furious display of skill and grit, with every win building towards Showdown Sunday - Rodeo's Richest Afternoon. Cowboys consider performing in front of more than 20,000 fans daily to be the highlight of the rodeo season.

Every night the Calgary Stampede presents the world's most unique doubleheader. The Evening Show featuring both The GMC Rangeland Derby Chuckwagon Races and the Grandstand Stage Show. As the sun sets, the GMC Rangeland Derby thunders around the track with 36 chuckwagons vying for over $1 million in prize money. Witness all the heart-stopping action as the pounding of the hooves and trembling of the ground shakes you right out of your seat. You'll never experience anything like it! When the last wagon thunders across the finish line, prepare yourself for the Grandstand Show: a variety extravaganza that includes comedy, elaborate song and dance numbers, acrobatics and the spectacular fireworks finale.

Explore Western Canadian history ranging from the 1860s to the 1950s at Heritage Park Historical Village. Guests can take a step back in history and learn about the west's energy past, present, and future with the storyseeker exhibit at the Innovation Crossing, or the challenges of animal care around the turn of the century at the Vintage Veterinary Exhibit. Immerse yourself in "The Way We Played," with live street theatre displaying how leisure time was spent and participate in historical Indigenous games and activities. In Heritage Town Plaza you will find unique shopping and restaurants as well as the stunning interactive Gasoline Alley Museum which features an impressive collection of restored one-of-a-kind vehicles, antique gasoline pumps and renowned vintage signs all year round. Ask about new winter products, unique culinary experiences and tax-exempt group meals in distinctive historical venues.

Heritage Park Historical Village is celebrating its 60th Anniversary in 2024.
