At the lodge, relax in a soothing atmosphere, tastefully designed to reflect the cultural aesthetics of the Haida people. The 12 guest rooms [accommodating two guests per room] feature private en-suite washroom facilities and complimentary wifi.
DAY 1: WEDNESDAY
OCEAN HOUSE ARRIVAL
Today, you will fly with North Cariboo Air from Vancouver South Terminal leaving at 7am [check-in time is at 5:45am] to the Sandspit Airport on Haida Gwaii. From here, a breath-taking helicopter ride will take you to Peel Inlet and the Ocean House. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the Ocean House staff and check-in to your room. Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet before we discuss the activities that lie ahead. Depending on your interests, our team will discuss the activities that you would like to participate in over the next 5 days.
Today, you may choose from the following activities:
• Discover the beauty of Peel Inlet [guided walk]
• Forest bathing tour at Security Inlet or Kaisun Village
• Kayaking / stand-up paddle boarding
• Learning from our Artist in Residence
Lunch, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages including tea and coffee will be provided for you to take on your guided excursion.
Upon returning from your activity, relax and experience the luxurious amenities of the Ocean House. The evening is there to enjoy your gourmet meal in a casual setting. Our Haida Chef works with local ingredients as much as possible and combines tradition with modern cooking techniques. House wine is included with dinner [a selection of other wines by the bottle and glass are also available – prices variable].
After dinner, choose from a variety of activities; learn more about the area from your cultural interpreters, watch a documentary in our media room, or rejuvenate in the lodge’s spa area.
DAYS 2-4: THURSDAY R08; SATURDAY
EXPLORING THE WEST COAST OF HAIDA GWAII
Over the next three days you will engage in captivating guided excursions that showcase the magic of the landscapes and the fascinating history and culture of the Haida who have inhabited the islands since time immemorial.
Each morning starts with a delicious breakfast and a discussion with your guides to discuss the day ahead.
Included activities you can choose from are:
• Discover the many gems at Peel Inlet [guided walk]
• Explore the ancient village site of Ts’aahl
• Forest-bathing tour at Security Inlet or Kaisun Village
• Kayaking / stand-up paddle boarding
• Learning from our Artist in Residence
You may also book additional a-la-carte activities to visit nearby sites (additional fees apply):
• Explore the ancient village of K’uuna Llnagaay
• Journey to SGang Gwaay, an UNESCO World Heritage Site
• Tour Haida Gwaii by air via helicopter or float plane
Lunch, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages including tea and coffee will be provided for you to take on your excursion. The Ocean House is the perfect place to unwind and soak up the tranquil and majestic landscape of Peel Inlet. Relax in our sauna and steam room or book a massage or treatment in our spa [additional costs may apply].
You may also wish to paddle one of the kayaks or stand-up boards to explore the quiet inlet on your own.
Throughout the day and in the evenings, enjoy the storytelling and the creation of art from the cultural interpreters or artists in residence. Our Haida guides are the connection to their culture and history, we encourage you to get up close and learn as much as you desire. Appetizers are served in the lounge late afternoon which is a great time to connect with your fellow travelers to share experiences with one other.
Dinners are served in the dining room and our Haida Chef will serve the freshest ingredients and combines tradition with modern techniques. House wine is included with dinner.
DAY 5: SUNDAY
DEPART OCEAN HOUSE
After a delicious breakfast it is time to say farewell and board your helicopter for your ride back to Sandspit. Helicopters leave between 9am and 10am. From Sandspit, enjoy your 70 minute flight to the Vancouver Airport South Terminal. Your plane will arrive in Vancouver at 1 pm [weather dependent].

The Ocean House is anchored in a remote location with no direct access to roads or well-marked trails. Guests can leave the lodge by foot but due to its remoteness, our guides will help you at the beginning of your stay to get acquainted with the area
