Now you have booked your self-drive holiday around Canada you may have a few questions about driving in Canada. We have put together some helpful advice to make your driving experience stress free.
It is legal to drive in Canada with your valid full UK license, you will be driving on the opposite side of the road which does take some getting used to, but roads are well-signposted and nicely maintained. As in the UK, seatbelts are mandatory and you are required to obey speed limits, take extra care when driving in national parks and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife.
If you are travelling with children, it is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the local Car seat/Booster guidelines, be aware that rules do vary from province to province. Most airlines do allow you to check a pram and car seat in addition to the child’s hold luggage allowance alternately you can request the appropriate car seat from your consultant at any time, subject to availability.
