Day 1 - Denver

Land in Denver, Colorado, known as the Mile High City. Settle into your downtown hotel before heading out to sample Denver’s innovative restaurant scene or follow the Beer Trail to discover the city’s many brewpubs, breweries and tap rooms.

Day 2 - Denver

Explore the sites of downtown Denver including 16th Street Mall, Larimer Square, the LoDo District and Denver Art Museum.

Day 3 - Cheyenne

Make a stop at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre or the spectacular Rocky Mountain National Park on your way to Wyoming, the Cowboy state. In Cheyenne visit the Old West Museum to learn about the annual Frontier Days, one of the oldest annual rodeos in the country.

Visit in late July to experience the rodeos, concerts and festivities of Frontier Days for yourself!

Day 4 - Casper

Fort Laramie is the largest and best known military post on the Northern Plains. In Casper, discover the history of the Oregon, California, Mormon and Pony Express Trails at the National Historic Trails Center. For authentic western wear a visit to Lou Taubert Ranch Outfitters is a must.

Day 5 - Ranching near Buffalo WY

Follow in the footsteps of western legends including Buffalo Bill Cody, Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid and Calamity Jane in the historic town of Buffalo before immersing yourself in traditional ranch life at the Ranch at UCross, nestled in the foothills of the Big Horn mountain range.

Day 6 - Rapid City

Take in Devils Tower, a butte of igneous rock reaching 364 meters into the sky. Stroll around downtown Rapid City with its series of life size bronze statues of past Presidents. Visit the Journey Museum for an insight into insight into Native American culture and the history of the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Day 7 - Black Hills of Dakota

Spend the day touring some of the USA’s most iconic attractions including Mount Rushmore, the 60ft high mountain carving of U.S. Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Neighbouring Crazy Horse Memorial honours the Native American warrior, and view more than 1,500 bison in Custer State Park.

Day 8 - Badlands

A maze of buttes, canyons and gullies formed by millions of years of erosion await at Badlands National Park. Spend the night in the park for spectacular stargazing. Nearby the infamous Wall Drug is a must stop for quirky shopping and amazing doughnuts!

Day 9 - Deadwood

Continue your journey to the Goldrush town of Deadwood, where the legends of Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane live on. Visit the Days of 76 Museum, wet your whistle in one of many saloon bars or try your luck in the gaming parlours.

Day 10 - Medora

In Medora visit the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame. Enjoy dinner at the Pitchfork Steak Fondue followed by a the rootin-tootin, boot-scootin outdoor Medora Musical with the dramatic landscape of the North Dakotan Badlands as your backdrop!

Day 11 - Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Take the 36-mile scenic drive through Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the only national park named after a person. Keep your eye out for wildlife along the way – bison, wild horses, elk, deer, pronghorn sheep and prairie dogs all call the park their home.

Day 12 - Bismarck

Discover the Native American Earth Lodges at On-A-Slant village and walk in the footsteps of General Custer at Fort McKeen – both at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. In Bismarck don’t miss the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum which tells the fascinating story of North Dakota.

Day 13 - Fargo

Enroute stop in Jamestown to see the world’s largest buffalo; a 60 tonne concreate statue standing at 26 feet tall. In Fargo don’t miss the infamous wood chipper from the movie named after the city. If you fancy a tipple, head to one of the local microbreweries before a meal in downtown Fargo!
