Yukon Aurora viewing combines just the right amount of excitement, inspiration and comfort. Spend your days visiting museums, sightseeing and sampling local cuisine in Whitehorse. Spend your nights watching for the northern lights.
To the north, an eerie, sulphurous-green sheen begins to ripple into the night sky. It arcs itself into an ebb and flow, slowly growing, then suddenly bursts across the full expanse of the night sky waving and dancing as if it were happy. It’s the spectacular and mystical Northern Lights and viewings such as the one above are common in the Yukon. Northern Lights viewing activities take place outside the city. A heated, cozy cabin or wall tent is available for your comfort.
Yukon Northern Lights Tour includes:
- Flights to and from Vancouver
- 2 nights Accommodation in Whitehorse at 3 - 3.5 star property
- Return shuttle transfer from/to Whitehorse Airport
- Whitehorse city tour
- 2 nights of Aurora Watching
Day 1 - Fly Vancouver to Whitehorse
Depart Vancouver Airport for Whitehorse. A transfer is included to your Hotel in downtown Whitehorse. The hotel is located within walking distance of all attractions, restaurants, banks and stores. After your arrival, there is time for an information meeting, the registration for optional tours, the fitting of winter clothing (clothing not included but available for rental), for shopping and dinner on your own. This evening depart for your first Aurora viewing. A cozy, heated cabin or wall tent with hot drinks and snacks makes your Aurora viewing even more enjoyable. Return to hotel around 2.30am.
Day 2 - Morning Sightseeing Tour & Evening Aurora Viewing
Around 10:00am you will embark on a city tour and a typical visit will include main street, train depot of White Pass and Yukon Route, the visitor centre, log skyscraper, log church, Sternwheeler SS Klondike, fish ladder, Schwatka Lake, and residential areas. This afternoon is free to relax before departing at 10pm for more Aurora viewing. Again, hot drinks and snacks are provided in a warm-up cabin. You can sit around a roaring fire and share stories with fellow travellers. Return to hotel around 2.30am.
Day 3 - Whitehorse to Vancouver
Transfer (included) to Whitehorse airport for your return flight to Vancouver, upon arrival at Vancouver Airport your package ends. This tour can be extended to a 3 nights stay, please ask for details.
