Holland America Line Helpful Information

Now that you have booked your Holland America Line Cruise you may have few questions before you board. We have put together a collection of commonly asked questions to help make your cruising experience hassle free. 

Once your booking has been confirmed please register yourself with Holland America. You will need your name and cruise reference to set up an account.

To manage your Holland America booking, log on via the website or their Navigator app. Your cruise personaliser allows you to streamline your cruise experience, view your itinerary, and a variety of onboard services and activities. Utilise your $100USD to book shore excursions directly with Holland America. It is highly recommended to book any tours directly through your cruise line. This ensures that you are not left behind. Checking your cruise personaliser regularly will allow you to take advantage of the various discounts made available pre-departure to secure the best deals, and give you a chance to familiarise yourself with the ship and its experiences. 

 

Holland America Line - Manage My Booking

  • Ensure your details are up to date by logging into your cruise personaliser.
  • Complete your online check-in and make note of your allocated embarkation time.
  • Please ensure you have a Mariner Number. If you already have one, please advise us and we will update our records. This is so it shows your current cruise booking. 
  • Print your boarding passes and luggage tags (we recommend also downloading a copy of your boarding pass to your smartphone).
  • Ensure you have comprehensive travel insurance in place with Cruise Cover, as well as proof of policy.
  • Brush up on your destination requirements which include ESTA (Visa waiver - required for entry to the USA), and ETA (Visa waiver - required for entry to Canada). ** Please see our dedicated Passports, Visa's and FCO advice page for further detail.**
  • Pre-book your at-sea speciality dining, spa services, activities, and shore excursions.
  • Most cruise lines feature optional formal evenings, participation is voluntary, however strongly encouraged.
  • Download the Holland America Navigator App to your smartphone.

Please Note: As you have booked with a travel agent, your confirmed inclusions such as a drinks package, Wi-Fi, gratuities, etc. may not all be listed on the Holland America app/website. How to Book a Shore Excursions

There is so much to see and do while on your Holland America Line Cruise, why not book a shore excursion to enhance your experience?

We highly recommend booking your shore excursions well in advance to avoid any disappointment as popular excursions for example many of wildlife excursions get booked up quickly. 

Documents you will need for embarkation: 

**Please note that the above documentation is mandatory for all guests, you will be refused boarding if you do not have the required documents.**

 

Check-In 
It is recommended that you complete your online check-in at least 72 hours prior to departure. This may be done through Holland America Manage My Booking. Please make a note of your allocated embarkation time, and that have your Express Docs printed. Guest arrivals are staggered to ensure a smooth check-in process with minimal waiting times. It is the guest’s own responsibility to arrive on time for boarding, and while it is highly recommended to ensure you are ready to board during your embarkation slot, those who fail to be on board at least 90 minutes prior to departure will be denied boarding.


Luggage Tags
Your luggage tags will generate during the online check-in process. Please ensure that you have them printed and securely attached to your luggage prior to embarkation. Upon check-in, for your convenience, your bags will be transferred to your cabin. 
 
 

Signature Drinks Package – US$54.95 pp per day. 
This package is automatically included if your cruise was booked on the ‘Have It All’ rate (Signature Drinks, Shore Excursion Credit, Wi-Fi, Specialty Dining). Please refer to your My Canada Trips booking confirmation for your inclusions. Please note there is a 15 daily beverage limit per person.
 
Inclusions 
Premium beers, cocktails, wine (by the glass), and spirits including anything featured in the non-alcoholic ‘Quench Package’– up to the value of US$11.00. If you wish to partake in a premium beverage (for example a US$13.00 cocktail), the additional US$3.00 will be charged to your account.
 
 
Elite Drinks Package – US$59.99pp per day
You can upgrade your Signature package to the Elite Package pre-departure or on board. Your Elite Drinks Package includes unlimited non-alcoholic beverages and 15 alcoholic beverages per person per day. 
 
Inclusions 
Any drink, including anything featured in the non-alcoholic ‘Quench Package’– up to the value of US$15.00. If you wish to partake in a beverage over that value (for example a US$17.00 cocktail), the additional US$2.00 will be charged to your account.
 
 
Quench Package – US$17.95pp per day
A non-alcoholic package option for a range of fun onboard refreshments with a limit of 15 daily beverages per person.
 
Inclusions 
Soft drinks, juices, mocktails, specialty coffees, bottled water (up to 500ml), and sparkling water.
 

Coca-Cola Package – US$8.00pp per day
A non-alcoholic package with no limit on drinks.
 
Inclusions 
Unlimited Coca-Cola fountain soda for your entire cruise.
 
 
No Drinks Package
If you choose not to purchase a Holland America Drinks Package, onboard beverages can be bought at cost from any drinks station you like - a discretional 18% gratuity will automatically be added to your account per drink. There is also a range of free beverages available throughout the ship and main dining room, featuring lemonade, coffee, hot tea, iced tea, and non-bottled water.
