Head to the north-east coast of Newfoundland and Labrador and discover the Iceberg Capital of the World. Awe-inspiring icebergs line the border and provide a spectacular sight. There are opportunities to go on a tour to see icebergs up close and learn about their formation. Twillingate is also a superb spot to go whale watching, with the chance to see humpbacks.
Many of the buildings in this quaint town are listed as historical landmarks, so it provides a picturesque setting for a place to visit during your motorhome trip. From here you can enjoy hiking along the coastline and kayaking around Trinity Bay. It’s also another spot to enjoy wildlife, so look out for orcas and dolphins.
The capital of Newfoundland and Labrador is charming, with its colourful houses which overlook St John’s harbour. It is also filled with history. Visit Signal Hill which was the site of St John’s harbour defences up to WWII. From St John’s travel to North America’s most eastern point, Cape Spear, where you can take park in axe throwing, zipline across Petty Harbour or go on a haunted walking tour.
