A trip to Ontario – and Canada – wouldn't be complete without visiting its most famous attraction. There are many ways to make the most of this breathtaking sight. From cruising up to the foot of the falls to taking to the skies and looking down during a spectacular helicopter ride, you will be blown away by its scale and beauty. Niagara is just 90 minutes from Toronto so is within easy reach in your RV.
Canada’s capital is rich in history and boasts eye-catching architecture and picturesque spots to admire in the city. Top attractions include Parliament Hill, home to Canada’s parliament buildings, and throughout summer you will be amazed by a spectacular light show projected on Parliament buildings. Byward Market offers the chance to try Canada’s tasty sweet treat Beaver Tails while you can also enjoy pleasant walks alongside the Rideau Canal.
Wildlife enthusiasts should head to Algonquin Park, situated three hours north of Toronto. The most popular and largest park in Ontario, visitors have the chance to spot moose, wolves, bears, beavers, otters and more. This park stuns with natural beauty from its maple hills, rocky ridges and thousands of lakes to explore by canoe.
Located in the heart of the great lakes, Manitoulin Island is the largest freshwater island in the world. Home to thousands of outdoor activities, Manitoulin Island is the perfect location to keep you entertained with a range of activities including canoeing and kayaking. My husband and I did an RV holiday in Ontario, October 2024. We loved having the freedom of being on the open road taking it at our own pace and not someone else's, the ability to stop off and explore charming towns along the way as well as stop at scenic view points and pour ourselves a cuppa in the RV without having to search for a coffee shop, allowing us to maximise our time taking in the spectacular scenery.
