Toronto, Niagara, Bayfield (Lake Huron), Bruce Peninsula National Park, Tobermory (Bruce Peninsula), Blue Mountain Resort and Wasaga Beach (Georgian Bay).
Favourite place:
Tobermory (Bruce Peninsula) – Beautiful and quaint little village, has a hippy/quirky feel. It’s small village centers around ‘Little Tub’ the Harbour where boats and ferries depart in the busy summer season. Glass-bottom boat tours explore the areas many shipwrecks and some on North Americas best wreck-diving can be found in the azure blue waters.
Favourite hotel:
Fairmont Royal York – A Toronto icon, grand historic hotel which has accommodated many famous actors, musicians and even royalty since 1929. Fantastic central location opposite Union Station and there are some great city views from most guest rooms. St Lawrence Market is a short walk away and many other shops, tourist attractions and eateries are in the local area.

Niagara’s Maid of the Mist cruise / Exploring Toronto’s eclectic Kensington Markets many vintage shops / Catching a baseball game at the Toronto Blue Jays Rogers Centre / Riding on the fast and furious Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster at the Blue Mountain Resort.
Favourite restaurants:
Queen Mother Cafe, Toronto – Cozy restaurant with dark wooden booths serving Canadian comfort food and pan-Asian favourites. The Fish & Chip Place, Tobermory – Busy local fish restaurant overlooking the Harbour and serving the Tobermory Fish Taco, washed down with the local draft beer!
Top tips / handy hints:
Visit the Carousel Bakery within the St Lawrence Market and grab a delicious peameal bacon roll (chunky back bacon cured in cornmeal served on a fresh bun) before exploring the many other food producers throughout this popular indoor market.
Things to look out for…
Bruce Peninsula National Park – great walks through 1000-year-old cedars, rare orchids and on top of limestone cliffs overlooking crystal-clear blue waters. Must visit locations include Little Cove, the Grotto and Singing Sands.
Bayfield (Lake Huron) – Enjoy the relaxed pace of this historic Ontario town, wander down the charming Main Street, exploring the many boutiques and local eateries.
Greatest memory:
Seeing Niagara Falls up close onboard the Maid of the Mist cruise. The noise of the water thundering over the edge and the spray going everywhere is an amazing experience.
