A helpful guide to taxi's & transfers around Canada.
As a rule, we do not include transfers from / to the airport in Toronto. In addition, from / to the airport and from / to the cruise terminal in Vancouver. Similarly, if you are travelling on Via Rail between two cities, then transfers from / to the railway stations are not included. Note: Rocky Mountaineer transfers are generally included from / to your hotel and the Rocky Mountaineer train station. Please refer to your booking summary.
Why no city transfers? The prepaid taxi service we offered in the past was proving problematic as private taxi companies, post pandemic, grew smaller and the likes of Uber grew larger. Clients were waiting too long for their pickups and noted it was quicker/easer for the hotel concierge to confirm a taxi on their behalf and pay locally, or book an Uber, Lyft, or KABU themselves. However, if you would prefer a pre organised transfer, we are happy to arrange this. Please contact your consultant / customer services for a quote.
Cost is also a factor. The public transit service from airport to downtown in Vancouver and Toronto e.g. are fast and efficient, cost effective, and in addition when it comes to taxis, many cities in Canada have a set airport to downtown rate, so there is peace of mind when it comes to cost.
One of the easiest ways to travel from Toronto airport to your Downtown Toronto hotel is by using the UP Express. Services run every 15 minutes from 5 am to 11 pm, you can pre-purchase your tickets in advance online or on arrival. Tickets cost CAD12.25 one way or CAD24.50 return. The Greater Toronto Area consists of over 8 million residents so the UP Express is a great way to ensure city traffic doesn't inadvertently inflate your taxi fare. The service is very modern, incredibly efficient, and designed to get you where you need to be faster and easier.
Journey time to downtown Toronto approximately 30 minutes. Cost approximately $61.

From Vancouver International airport simply follow the signs from 'Arrivals' to 'The Canada Line', it is incredibly well-signposted and very easy to use, it costs just CAD$3.10pp and will take you directly from the airport into the heart of the city or vice versa. Apart from affordability the Canada Line also takes less time and avoids busy city traffic, getting you where you need to be quickly and efficiently. From the Vancouver City Centre Station, most hotels are just a $CAD5.00- $CAD10.00 taxi ride away.
